As the flagship campus of the commonwealth, the University of Massachusetts Amherst engages in world-class research, academic and co-curricular opportunities, and community engagement. In support of these core activities, Administration and Finance (A&F) is proud to provide the campus with outstanding service and responsible stewardship of resources.

A&F areas of responsibility include finance, human resources, facilities management, hotel and dining services, student health, and environmental health and safety services.  A&F supports an operating budget of $1.2 billion encompassing 25,000 full time students, 7,000 employees, 13 million square feet of facilities, and 1,400 acres of grounds and infrastructure.

While A&F encompasses a wide range of functions and services, we consistently strive to provide high-quality service through transparent, timely, modern, and cost-effective processes, ensuring the campus fulfills its mission in the most efficient and safe manner possible.

We are pleased to directly contribute to the educational mission of the university by working with our strategic partners and campus departments to provide students with invaluable internships and research opportunities. We are also proud to advance the university’s reputation as a national leader in sustainability through programs that foster sustainable practices, including energy consumption, construction, and food production.
