EDUC595K: Introduction to College Teaching
Introduction
to College Teaching is a variable (one to three) credit
course designed to provide you with an introduction to
college teaching via exposure to theories of student
learning and the opportunity to practice a variety of
teaching techniques. The goal of this discussion-based
seminar is to give you a practical grounding in teaching
effectiveness that will enhance both your future academic
career and your current teaching assignments at the University
of Massachusetts Amherst.
This course
is open to all students currently enrolled in a graduate
degree-granting program. The course is designed for those
with little or no teaching experience, somewhat experienced
instructors, or those planning to pursue a faculty career.
Please speak to me about any special arrangements for disabilities
needed to make your full participation in the seminar possible.
For more
information, contact Matt
Ouellett at the Center for
Teaching.
