Private Foundation Limited Submission Opportunities

Foundations sometimes limit the number of applications an institution may submit for a specific funding program. When a private foundation's call for proposals is "limited," Corporate & Foundation Relations (CFR) collaborates with the Office for Research Development (RD) to send out a call for interest to relevant campus constituents. If more than the "limit" express interest, an internal review committee, comprised of faculty, Associate Deans of Research, and others, with advice from the Senior Foundation Relations Director, determine which application(s) would be most competitive. Nominees are selected based on the quality of the materials submitted to the review committee and on the likelihood of being funded by the sponsor per its guidelines and the history of previous awardees.

Below are the current Private Foundation Limited Submission Opportunities. If you are interested in one of these programs, you must email Michelle Wonsey by the internal deadline stated in the announcement. Please note that the dates shown below may shift annually.

CFR and RD make every effort to identify Limited Submissions Opportunities and provide timely information about them. If you have identified a private foundation limited submission opportunity that is not posted on the below list, please email Liz Smith. For public opportunities like the National Science Foundation, please visit RD's Limited Submission Awards & Grants webpage. Thank you!

Please note: CFR also provides proposal submission assistance. This includes edits, and lay person comments, and recommendations on the narrative/technical section. Please see our Services page.
