- Call our Recruiting Coordinator, who
will advertise your campus visit, send resumes for pre-screening,
and will arrange a compatible schedule of interviews.
- Decide which majors you wish to see. Don't
forget the Liberal Arts majors! i.e. Communication majors
may have similar skills to Marketing majors, Economics to Finance,
etc.
- Notify the candidates you
have selected for an interview by phone or letter.
- Consider hosting an
Information Session the evening before your recruiting
interview date. If you are new to campus or renewing
your presence, it's a great marketing tool.
- Help us market your
organization. A detailed job description plus 15 copies of
your marketing brochure are critical.

Steps to Hiring a Co-op or Intern
- Contact the Field Experience
Office to discuss your short term or project-based needs.
- Prepare a brief job posting.
We will send you resumes of interested students.
- Contact the students you wish to interview.
You can see students at the Career Services office or on-site.
Please notify both the student and Field Experience Office of your selection.
- Provide a supervisor for the
student, an orientation to your firm and the project, and
a formal job description.
- Help us maintain quality by hosting a
mid-semester visit by Career Services staff and by completing an end-of-placement
evaluation.

Note: Our students tend
to prefer full time over part-time Field Experience position.
Many live in the eastern part of the
state and can live at home during their Co-op or Internship.

Our Field Experience Program provides your company with:
- Highly motivated and productive employees for one-,
three-,five-, seven- or eight-month assignments
- A low-cost, effective way to get more done
- A chance to train entry level talent to step into
future full time openings
- A 3-credit tuition waiver for eligible supervisors
Note: Co-ops are paid,
generally do not earn credit, and work in for-profit firms.
Interns are generally unpaid, do earn credit, and work for
non-profit firms. Naturally, we recognize that some firms call
paid positions "internships."
