WIND
For laid off, downsized, or unemployed alumni/ae, we recommend attending weekly career networking meetings with an organization called WIND. These evening meetings are facilitated by a skilled outplacement consultant and are a good resource for company contacts. The meeting fee is nominal.
JVS
For those living in the Boston-area, reasonable-priced career services are available at JVS (Jewish Vocational Service). Their fees are quite reasonable compared with private consultants in the Boston area. You do not need to be Jewish to use their services—they are open to everyone. There are JVS offices in most metropolitan areas. A Google search will help you find those if you live outside of Boston.
