Alumni Career Services

UMass Amherst graduates have a six-month grace period following graduation during which they may use all of Career Services’ resources – speak with a career advisor, take advantage of our Walk-In hours to work with a staff member, open a credentials file, maintain an account on UMass Amherst CareerConnect/eRecruiting, attend workshops and career fairs, and participate in on-campus interviewing.

After six months, UMass Amherst alumni are welcome to maintain or open an account on eRecruiting where they can access job listings and find out about upcoming career fairs. Alumni may also attend our workshops, utilize our Credentials Service for five years after graduation, and may use our computer lab to access the Internet and print out resumes for their job hunt. However, after the initial six months, alumni do not have access to our career advisors and Walk-In staff.

UMass Amherst Alumni Association

We encourage our students to join the UMass Amherst Alumni Association soon after graduation. Besides helping alumni keep in touch, they provide excellent career development and networking opportunities.

The Alumni Association also offers the following resources:

Career Development and Career Enhancement

The Alumni Association provides ongoing programs and services for alumni to help you enhance your career. These include seminars, an online community, mentoring, job postings, online career development, and job search tools.

Alumni Association Online Directory

The online Alumni Directory encourages communication among alumni for personal and professional networking purposes. We recommend that you register for the directory and use its search capabilities to network with alumni who might be helpful in your career search. Remember that these alumni have not necessarily indicated a willingness to assist in this capacity, so tread carefully. Never ask an alumna/us for a job, but do consider alumni as information resources.

Visit the Alumni Directory page to learn more.

Regional Clubs

Take advantage of the many various networking opportunities offered by your regional UMass Amherst Alumni Club. Use the Alumni Association Web site to find the one in your area.
