Championship Game Summary
Limp Richards and Softballs 20, Hit or Miss 6

In search of their 4th straight weekend softball title, Limp Richards & Softballs crushed Sig Ep Smash 23-4 & held off Donkey Punchers 5-4 to reach the final of the double-elimination tournament. While Limp Richards was solid, a dark horse emerged in the name of Hit or Miss. After dropping their first game by forfeit, Hit or Miss clawed their way back through the loser’s bracket by also devouring Sig Ep Smash 21-1, Hobart’s Finest 14-2 & Donkey Punchers 18-6. Hit or Miss’s momentum of their hot bats provided by Mike Miklavic & Zachary Battige and crafty pitching of Alby Michaud soon turned to shock and awe in the championship as Limp Richards hit Michaud’s pitch like no other team. Base hit after base hit set the table for Dan Babin who smoked a homerun to left center. Limp Richards plated seven runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. After a silent 1st inning for Hit or Miss, Limp Richards brought their big bats to the plate and scored twelve times in the 2nd. Conor Storie homered twice and amassed four RBIs. Captain Matt Flight, who played consistently throughout, chipped in with a 2-RBI double. Limp Richards tacked on one more run in the 3rd inning to bring their total to 20 runs. Facing the run-ahead rule, Hit or Miss did not go quietly and produced five runs thanks in part to effective and patient hitting, while Limp Richards got a little sloppy and carelessly threw the ball around. Andy McQuilken tripled to keep Hit or Miss alive, but they were merely delaying the inevitable. Limp Richards steamrolled their way to their 4th championship 20-6.
