Championship Summary
Free Agents defeat Hit Faced 2-1

This year’s women’s volleyball final would pit the #1 and #2 seeds from the regular season against each other.  The #1 seed Hit Faced were the frontrunners going into the match but the #2 seed Free Agents were determined to put up a fight.  Game one started with a back-and-forth exchange of points, but with the game tied 3-3, the Free Agents assumed control, winning the next 14 points thanks to strong play from Soleil Le and Elizabeth Cipar. Trying to force a comeback, Hit Faced captain Aimee Jones rallied her team to some tough earned points.  The rally proved to be too little too late as the Free Agents coasted to an easy 30-13 game one victory.

In the second game, Hit Faced jumped to an early 6-3 lead before relinquishing the lead to the Free Agents who scored 8 of the next 10 points.  Jones again rallied her team with the help of teammates Erica Omobono and Lauren Pellegrini that would tie the score at 12-12.  The next 8 points was nothing short of modern warfare as the teams played to a 16-16 tie. Hit Faced cashed in on many Free Agents errors and would edge a small lead. The Free Agents intermittently added to their total, but it was Hit Faced who hung on for the 30-22 game two win.

Game three would live up to the hype as each team scratched and clawed for each and every point.  Needing just 15 for a game 3 win meant less room for error for both teams. Playing to 2-2, 3-3, 6-6, 8-8, and 9-9 ties, the stage was set for one team to shine.  Free Agents net players rose to the occasion and sealed a game 3 victory to clinch the championship.
