Women's Volleyball Fall 1992

The Blockettes

Championship Summary
The Blockettes defeated Green Team 15-12, 15-5

The Women's Volleyball Championship featured the undefeated Blockettes and the Green Team. These teams met earlier in the season with the Blockettes coming out on top, winning in two games. The Green Team advanced to the finals by upsetting Last Time Around, a team that defeated them in the regular season, in a three game battle.

The Blockettes won the toss, elected to serve, and took a 3—0 lead in the first game. The Green Team fought back and managed to go ahead by three, 9—6. This game was a back and forth battle which saw four ties and lasted over 25 minutes before the Blockettes broke the last tie at 12 and pulled away for the win.

In the second game, the Green Team took the 3—0 lead, but the Blockettes tied it and then went on a run to take a rather lengthy lead which forced the Green Team into taking two timeouts. The Green Team managed only two points after their initial run and the Blockettes captured the victory 15—5. The Blockettes utilized Sharon Fuller's spiking ability and the consistent play of Natalie Kozlowski to win the championship.
