Cha Chas 13, Isotopes 9

Newcomers, Isotopes, emerged undefeated from pool play, including a hard fought 10-9 victory over defending champs Cha Chas. Bleeding Lungs, last years runnerups, also finished undefeated by virtue of two wins-by-forfeit and a 13-9 win over a scrappy T-RO squad. On a glorious championship Saturday, Isotopes blanked T-RO 15-0 to earn a berth in the final. Cha Chas gained a rematch against Isotopes by defeating Bleeding Lungs 12-6. In the final, the pace was fast and furious and the first half ended tied 4-4. Rick Gupta scored twice for Isotopes to lead the first half scoring. Cha Chas exploded for nine goals behind co-captain Jeff Youngblood's game-high four goals. Cha Chas retained their title 13-9.
