Championship Game Summary
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S 3, Yellhoes 2

G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S pushed a run across in each of the first three innings and held off the Yellhoes to win the women’s championship 3-2. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, undefeated in league play with two playoff wins, got started in the 1st inning on a single by Chris Harper. Rachel Sherwin and Sarah Cooper both walked to load the bases. Jess Holmes then singled to score Harper to plate the G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S first run. Yellhoes,also undefeated in league play with two playoff wins, answered in the top of the second when Kyle Morrissey walked and moved to second on a single by Catherine Simmons. Another walk pushed Morrissey to third, and a single by Rachael Barry brought Morrissey home to make it 1-1. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S scored a second run in the bottom half of the inning with consecutive base hits from Julia Concannon, Monica Spencer-Lopes & Leigh Ricci and a run-scoring single from Maureen Duffy. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S held tough defensively in the top of the third and pushed their third run across in the bottom half with an RBI single from Concannon. Both teams were held scoreless in the 4th inning. Yellhoes made it a one-run game in the top of the 5th when a single from Simmons started it off and Erica Pally’s hit scored Simmons. That’s all the Yellhoes would get as G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S retired the side on good pitching and great defense. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S held on to win the championship game in an intense, defensive struggle 3-2 with the final out coming on a line out to the third.
