Championship Game Summary
Bombders 8, Yeat 2

This year’s co-rec championship featured Bomders versus Yeat. Yeat came to bat first and wasted little time in scoring as Tom Sousa started with a hit and was eventually driven in by Kelly Hannen. Yeat would only get one run in the first inning. Bomders scored four runs in their half, capped off by a Mike Croci triple.

Thanks to some great fielding by Bomders, particularly Croci in centerfield, Yeat was unable to muster another bit until the 5th inning when Erik Martin tried to get things going, but the Bomders’ defense held strong. Bomders’ Nick Bostock and Dave Mackey scored two more runs in the in the bottom of the 5th for a 6-1 lead. Yeat did not give up, and in the top of the 8th, strung together a series of hits, but was unable to score. Yeat tried to make one last stand in the top of the 10th and was able to plate Jon Zuker, but Bomders prevailed 8-2 to capture the championship.
