Men's Softball Spring 1999

Sigma Alpha Mu

Championship Game Summary
Sigma Alpha Mu A 16, Team Corporate 2

Defending champions Sigma Alpha Mu A successfully repeated as men’s softball champion. They defeated Team Corporate 16-2. The game was never in doubt due to the big bats of SAM, who jumped right on Team Corporate by scoring 4 runs in the first inning and then added an additional 11 runs in the second inning. Team Corporate was unable to find much offense due to the great defense of SAM, led by shortstop Josh Lieberman.

Team Corporate finally got on the scoreboard with 2 RBIs by Ben Andrews in the third inning, but the contest was well in hand for SAM. Nearly every player on SAM scored at least one run. Centerfielder Seth Leeds led the way with three runs in a 4 for 4 effort at the plate. Sigma Alpha Mu later added an additional run in the fourth, bringing the score to 16-2. SAM’s domination of Team Corporate was a total team effort. Sigma Alpha Mu A kept their title as the best men’s softball team on campus. Once again, they are the champions.
