Championship Game Summary
Hot Shots 5, ICU 2

The women's season came to a close with Hot Shots battling ICU. Both teams displayed strong defensive plays that carried this game to its exciting conclusion.

Hot Shots opened up the game with a three base hit by Carrie Goodman who came around to score off of Jennifer Gullats base hit. ICU led off the bottom of the first with a powerful home run by Chantel Tremier. Both teams struggled offensively through the fourth inning where the score remained 1-1.

The top of the fifth inning marked a sudden offensive surge by Hot Shots. ICU could not handle the Hot Shots and wound up with the bases loaded and one out. First Lori Sheehan was walked home, then Faun Sweeny got a base hit bringing Serenity Boland home. Jennifer Sabbagh made it home on a tag up, and taking advantage of an over throw, Denna Coffin came home. By the time ICU came up to bat the score was 5-2. Hot Shots continued their powerful showing on defense and shut down ICU's first three batters. The final score was Hot Shots 5, ICU 2.
