Championship Game Summary
Hot Shots 5, Kurt's Tour Bus 3
The Women's Softball Championship featured two teams from the Power league
who met earlier in the season. Kurt's Tour Bus beat the Hot Shots in the first
meeting 5—2.
The Hot Shots began the game with a base hit from Jen Sabbagh. Meryl Tillis
was up next and smacked one through third and short to put runners on first and
second. The cleanup batter Dianne Gobin hit a double to score Sabbagh for the
first run of the game. With two outs Deanna Coffin hit one down the third base
line to drive in another run.
In the bottom half of the first inning, Kurt's Tour Bus got on the board
quickly as Missy McGee hit a single with one out. The next batter Tracey
Barclay made it to first on an error placing runners on first and second. The
next two batters walked giving Kurt's Tour Bus a run with the bases still full.
Yael Segal singled to score two which put the home team ahead 3—2.
It was the top of the fourth inning with two outs when the Hot Shots started
a rally.
Sabbagh scored a runner from third on a base hit to left and Gobin hit
another double to score two more to put the Hot Shots ahead 5—3.
Kurt's Tour Bus had the winning run at first as bases were loaded in the
bottom of the fifth with two outs. Barclay was at the plate with the count full
and hit a line drive between left and center field. Left fielder Gobin came up
with a nice grab to end the threat and the game.
The Hot Shots remained on top and won the championship 5—3.
