Championship Game Summary
Pink Tacos 2, SFC 0

The men’s soccer championship saw a clash of the #2 and #3 ranked teams in the supervisors’ power rankings. Pink Tacos, undefeated in the regular season, won four games in the playoffs, including two in overtime, to advance to the final.  SFC, last year’s men’s champion, also was undefeated in the regular season and won three close games in the playoffs to reach the championship. SFC came out early and controlled possession for the first eight minutes of the game. SFC striker Mike Hardman had some great opportunities to put his team up early, but Pink Tacos goalie, Ryan Seifert, was up to the task. At the 10-minute mark, Josh Pridokas, midfielder for Pink Tacos, snuck behind SFC’s defense and with a strong strike was able to find the back of the net from 22 meters out. From that point on, SFC pushed their midfielders up and pressing to score. As a result, their goalkeeper, Noel Shaughnessy, got peppered but was able to keep his team in the game until the 34-minute mark when Abdoulie Senesie found the back of the net with a strike from 32 meters out. That put Pink Tacos up 2-0. SFC struggled on the offensive end as Pink Tacos’ defense was strong. Pink Tacos was able to maintain control, kill the remaining time on the clock & emerge with the hard-fought 2-0 win.
