Championship Game Summary
SFC 0, Limp Richards and Soft Balls 0 (PK's)

The men's soccer championship was an intense battle between SFC and Prince/Crampton. Early in the first half, SFC’s Nick Flamini had a good scoring opportunity but the ball went wide. Prince/Crampton’s Mike Schroeder missed the net off a corner kick. His teammate, Ian Wale, has his shot bounce off the hands of SFC goalie Noel Shaughnessy. The ball is kicked again, but Shaughnessy comes up big on the save. Possession was even between the teams in the first half. With 6 minutes left in the half, Alen Abdula of Prince/Crampton had the best shot of the half but his ball hit the right side of the net. The "AHHHHS" of the crowd could be heard as the first half ended with no scores. Prince/Crampton began the 2nd half in control. Keeper Shaughnessy saved Roman Figiel’s shot. A few minutes later, SFC had a direct kick just outside the goal box. Dom Previte kick bounced off the right crossbar. The game got more and more physical as the 2nd half progressed. SFC’s Joe King received yellow card with seven minutes left to go. Then with 3 minutes left in the half, Heath Shepardson’s shot from center is stopped by Shaughnessy. The 2nd half ended like the first, with neither team scoring. The game remained scoreless through two, 5-minute overtimes. In the sudden death penalty kicks, SFC outdid Prince/Crampton. P/C’s first three kickers missed their kicks. SFC’s last kicker David Goodwin had the chance to seal the victory. His kick found the back of the net and SFC claimed a hard fought victory.
