Championship Game Summary
Van Nistelrooy's 1, The Tourists 0

For this championship, the name of the game was defense. Van Nistelrooy’s mounted a reasonable attack in the first half with eight shots on Tourists goalkeeper David White, but White kept them scoreless. White’s counterpart, Van Nistelrooy’s goalkeeper Zachary Simmons, also kept the ball out the net. The first half ended with the score at the big zero. The strong defense continued in the second half as neither team scored for another 20 minutes. Overtime! In the first overtime period of five minutes, Van Nistelrooy’s had four shots on goal – two were saved by White, one sailed right and the other flew over the goal. With no score from either team, that meant a second overtime. Van Nistelrooy’s Sean Wooley took matters into his hands (oh, feet) and scored the winning goal in double overtime for the 1-0 dramatic and exhausting victory.
