Championship Game Summary
Team Ramrod defeats 30 Racks 6-0, 5-2

Ten teams in two divisions vied for the ice hockey championship. 30 Racks finished second in the Patrick Division and advanced to the championship with a win-by-forfeit over Scrubs and a 5-3 victory over Shockers. Smythe Division’s Team Ramrod received the #1 seed and shutout Bangers 2-0 and won-by-forfeit over JV Team to advance to the final. In game one, Mike Loring scored with an assist from Chris Warren to put Team Ramrod up 1-0. Loring scored again nine minutes later to give Ramrod the 2-0 lead after the 1st period. Both defenses prevented any shots on goal early in the 2nd period until Warren scored with an assist from Adam Jennes. Warren’s second goal came at the 3:12 mark of the 2nd period. In the third period, Tyler Hawley remained impenetrable in goal and Dan Picard scored twice to complete the 6-0 shutout. In game two, Team Ramrod’s Brian McLean scored the lone goal in the first period.  Fifteen seconds into the 2nd period, Jennes and McLean both scored to put Ramrod up 3-0. After four shutout periods, 30 Racks captain Chris DiRico finally put the puck past Hawley. DiRico single handedly put 30 Racks back in the game with his second goal. In the 3rd period, Chris Cobb added an insurance goal for Team Ramrod. Cobb’s empty net goal finished the scoring for Team Ramrod’s 5-2 win over 30 Racks.
