Championship Summary
D. P. Dough defeated Night and Day 7-4, 7-5
Eight teams qualified for the seeded 1995 Fall Ice
Hockey Tournament. Pi Kappa Alpha trounced
Farmer's Hanky, 17-1 and Night & Day defeated No
Names, 5-1. The Cleveland Steamers shut out the
Smocks, 5-0 and D.P. Dough handled the Mother
Puckers, 10-3. Night & Day upset Pi Kappa Alpha, 3-1,
in one semi-final, while D.P. Dough won 5-2 over the
Cleveland Steamers.
In game one of the best of three
championship series, Mike Brown's hat trick led Dough
in their 7-4 triumph. Mike Montessi's two goal
performance led Night & Day.
In game two, Night's Dan Wassung netted the first
goal assisted by Jeff Bonneau and Chris Barry. Chris
Smith assisted by Matt Trinceri added to the lead
before Brian Camara cut the lead to 2-1. Jeff Bonneau
and Dan Wassung each scored to end the period. Chris
Barry's goal upped the lead to 5-1. Finally, Donald
Choi broke through with a vengeance. He scored 3
unanswered goals assisted by James Downie, David
Delleo and Greg Hans.
The second period ended with
Night holding a precarious 5-4 lead. Both goalies
denied all corners until three minutes left in regulation.
Tim Schlitzer capitalized in a mad scramble in front of
the net and tied the score 5-5. Brian Camara's goal
gave Dough their first lead when it mattered most.
Mike Brown added an open net goal as time expired
giving Dough a thrilling come-from-behind win over a
gallant Night & Day squad, 7-5.
