Operation Desert Storm reached the final with wins over For Free (46-3 8) and Room 307 (54-47). Overall athleticism would determine the winner from these two evenly matched squads. Play was consistently close throughout the first half but K-Love seemed to have a difficult time finding open shots. Effective execution of Operation Desert Storm’s game plan forced Nelson Barros, one of K-Love’s leaders, into foul trouble early into the second half.

Operation Desert Storm came out firing in the second stanza to take an early lead. Great team defense allowed a few easy baskets to widen the lead for ODS This quick scoring burst seemed to take away all of K-Love’s energy, making it evident that the momentum would not change hands for the remainder of the game. Operation Desert Storm, behind Dwayne Early’s 12 points, 11 points for Uchenna Ogbouike and Charles Kelly’s 10 points defeated K-Love, and Ben Andrews’s game high 13 points, 54-35.
