Da Bad Boyz Part II 47, World Premiere 34
Sixteen teams entered the
1995 Holiday Basketball Tour
nament. Three undefeated
teams advanced into the playoffs, DA Bad Boyz Part II, Coast
2 Coast, and Wu-Gambinos.
World Premiere won their pool
by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker.
In the semi-finals, DA Bad
Boyz eliminated Coast 2 Coast
53-41 and World Premiere handied
Wu-Gambinos, 59-48.
In
the finals, the Bad Boyz jumped
out to a 9-0 lead triggered by
Paulo Barros three-pointer.
World Premiere cut the lead to
9-5. Both teams settled into a
2-3 match-up zone. The half
ended with the Bad Boyz leading 27 to 18.
Early in the second half the
lead was 30-19. Claude Seide
launched two 3-point bombs to
cut the lead tO 30-25. Bad Boyz
responded to the pressure and
powered their way to a double-digit
lead. With 4:30 left Bad
Boyz led 41-28. Both teams exchanged baskets and free throws
down the stretch. When
the buzzer sounded DA Bad
Boyz Part II had another title to
add to last year's Holiday
and regular season championships, final score 47-34.
The DA Bad Boyz Part II were
led by Kenneth Hickman's 16
points and Jesse Suglia's 10
points. World Premiere was
paced by Claude Seide and
Ervin Flowers, who both scored
11 points.
