Championship Game Summary
Fancy Pants 26, Jelly Beans 6

Throughout the women’s flag football regular season, Fancy Pantsand Jelly Beans developed a healthy rivalry in their quest for the top spot. Though Jelly Beans held a head-to-head advantage with their 25-7 win during league play, Fancy Pants earned the top playoff seed with their overall impressive season. Jelly Beans showed their toughness on their way to the championship with a hard fought victory over Six Pack and a Cold One, thus setting up the much-anticipated re-match between league foes. In the championship, Jelly Beanstook advantage of playing one player up as Rachel Condry threw two dump passes to Stephanie Miller under Fancy Pants’ soft zone for the game’s first score and the 6-0 lead. Fancy Pants stormed right back on their first offensive series with three hard-nosed receptions by Liz Rosseel, including a grab for a touchdown.  After a quick forced turnover, a second throwing TD by Paige Kelley to Kara Pinsky, and two successful conversions, Fancy Pants took the 14-6 lead into the half. On the first drive of the second half, Kelley & Rosseel again demonstrated their strong chemistry & connected on a 25-yard touchdown to increase their advantage to 20-6. Despite strong play from Miller, Fancy Pants showed excellent team defense and forced two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown by the ever-present Rosseel. That nail in the coffin sealed the Fancy Pants 26-6 women’s win.
