Championship Game Summary
Falcons 25, Quincy 6

The final between Falcons & Quincy was expected to be an offensive showdown, but defense dominated in the early going. With Quincy driving downfield on the opening possession of the game, Joe Coulson picked off a pass to end the scoring threat. On the ensuing series, Dan Duggan returned the favor for Quincy, intercepting quarterback Ned Grady on 4th and goal to end the Falcons’ scoring chance. Following another interception by the Falcons, Grady opened the scoring with a touchdown pass late in the first half to give Falcons the lead. Using a sturdy defense that intercepted Quincy quarterback Pat Bregoli three times in the first half, Falcons took a slim 6-0 lead into halftime.

Quincy, knowing they had to try to shift momentum, came out firing in the 2nd half. QB Bregoli improvised when none of his targets were open and scrambled for a large gain. Later in the drive, Bregoli found Duggan for a clutch 3rd down catch to keep the drive alive.  That grab would spark Quincy, as Bregoli threw for a touchdown to even the score at 6-6. QB Grady took over for the Falcons.  His touchdown run on a 4-play drive quickly gave the lead back to the Falcons at 13-6. Following another interception (Grady would have 4 on the day), Grady threw for a second touchdown to Joe Dattoli for the 19-6 lead.  Quincy tried to keep the game close, but another Grady interception lead to a touchdown that would give the Falcons a 25-6 lead. Quincy mounted a final drive to stay in the game, but the defense of the Falcons held to give them the 2005 men’s flag football championship.
