Both offensives were on fire to start the game. QB Will Glennon hit Brendan Kiley with a 50 yard TD pass to put Pike up by six. Joe Evans threaded a long pass to Brian McGuire, who ran in untouched to tie the game for Curly G. After completing another bomb to Kiley, Glennon hit Jeff Michaud in the endzone. J.D. St. Jean caught the first successful PAT, Pike led 13-6. Evans hit James Medeiros with a 40 yard pass and then an 8 yard TD pass and the lead was cut to 13-12. After what seemed to be a huge defensive stop for Curly G, a penalty gave Pike new life. Glennon hit St. Jean to lead 19-12 with 3 minutes to the half. Evans scrambled and threw a 30 yard TD pass to Matt Rogers and capped it with a two point PAT also to Rogers to take the halftime lead 20-19.

Curly G’s momentum carried into the second half as Evans connected with McGuire on a 40 yard pass to set up a short TD pass to Kevin Burch. The 1 point PAT opened up a 27-19 lead. Both defenses stiffened and neither team scored on their next possession. Facing 4th down, Glennon hit Jason Lefsyk for a huge first down. Lefsyk caught three more passes including a 5 yard TD catch and a 2 point PAT. With the score tied 27-27 and two minutes to go, Curly G had the ball. Joe Foresi sacked Evans in the endzone for the safety. Pike took possession and ran out the clock to preserve the victory, 29-27.
