Come Get The Belt 19, Theta Chi A 7

Fifty teams qualified for 1995 Men's Flag Football Playoffs. Undefeated in league play, Come Get The Belt defeated Tough Guys (WBF), Puiple Haze (28-18), Next? (21-19) and The Suits (26-19) to reach the final game. Theta Chi A finished 3rd in their league but ignited offensively to defeat Shaolin Shadowboxers (32-12), Killians Red (41-21), Lambda Chi Alpha (34-20), and the Bomb Squad (27-26).

The championship game could not have been more anticipated as six days of rain, cold, and snow separated the semi-finals and the final. Come Get the Belt won the toss, took the ball and marched down field. QB, Peter Lucido's completion to William Sharpless resulted in a first and goal on the Theta Chi 10 yard line. On 4th down, Lucido found a wide open Tim Theroux for the TD. On the PAT, Lucido completed to Todd Theroux. Theta Chi A's first possesion ended in a punt.

Both teams played strong defensively. With 5 minutes left in the half, Lucido connected with Applebee for a 50 yard touchdown pass. John Mitchell intercepted the PAT and ran the length of the field to put Theta Chi on the scoreboard, 13-1.

Theta Chi started the second half with the ball. QB, John Mitchell completed a 40 yard pass to Dan Ginley. The offense stalled and turned the ball over on downs with 15:30 left in regulation. Theta Chi had a huge defensive stance to regain possession on downs. John Mitchell scrambled for a first down and passed to Brian Torrisi to cut the lead to 13-7. Peter Lucido took the game into his hands as he completed a 35 yard pass to Ryan Applebee and ran a quarterback draw up the middle for the score. Theta Chi's scoring threat ended with a sack of Mitchell by Tim Theroux. Come Get The Belt won the game and the title, 19-7.
