The final pitted two teams who had met during the regular season. In that battle, Bruisers nipped Tsunami’s 4-3. This championship would be equally close with Bruisers pulling out a 1-0 victory. Bruisers got on the board early when Lindsay Torres poked a loose ball past sprawl ing goalie Patrice Russo. Bruisers had their share of long hits in the first half and opportunities to score. Peppered in this half, Russo would go on to make six point-blank saves and keep her team in the game. Bruisers held the 1-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Bruisers’ goalie Aimee Falardeau kept her cool when Tsunami’s the likes of Kate Thompson & Lindsey Zwart jammed the arc and threatened to score. Bruisers held on for the 1-0 championship win.
