Boston Public won the championship volleyball match 15-12, 15-1 over Safe Sets. The defending champion struggled in the first game, but pulled together in the second for a near shutout. Safe Sets got another point off a nice tip by Zach Smith. Boston Public’s Khanh Tran served two aces and had the chance to win the game, but served it out of bounds. Trailing 14-5, Safe Sets rallied back to within 2 points off the hard serves from Osgood. With a 14-12 score, De Jesus sealed the victory with a nice serve.

The second game started with a quick 6-0 Boston Public lead off the serves of Tran. There were four sideouts before Boston Public got 2 more points off a tip by Kelsey Lupo and a kill by Luci Alliance-Valcimond. Defensively Lindsay Marts had a nice tip that seemed to be going down, but De Jesus made a diving save. Safe Sets’ only point of the game came from a nice block and kill combination by Miretsky. Lupo served until the game was 14-1, but missed the serve to give Safe Sets a chance to come back. Smith served, but the ball went out of bounds. Alliance-Valcimond’s serving ace put the game and match away. Despite good defensive efforts by Safe Sets, especially that of Kindzerske, Miretsky, Marts & Elsa Chan, they couldn’t stop the powerful Boston Public offense.
