After trading four consecutive sideouts per team, Boston Public's Lucienne Alliance-Valcimond opened the scoring 2-0 with back-to-back serves. Boston Public would add one more point with a kill from Mike Nguyen before Victor's Secret's Beverly Strassner served for two to bring the score to 3-2.

A hard strike from Victor's Secret's Stanley Mui through the heart of the court tied the game at 3. This was all that was needed to motivate server Li Fan Wu, who served 10 straight points to 12-3 before finally succumbing to Boston Public's attack from Nguyen. Victor's Secret gave up a couple points but was relentless in their attack on the ball and quickly put away game one 15-7.

Boston Public was not ready to give up as Nguyen hit a Khanh Tran set onto Victor's Secret ten foot line to save game point. Alliance-Valcimond was in the server's position to serve her team to 14-13 after Quoc Thai and Nguyen tallied kills for Boston Public. A Nguyen hitting error spelled disaster for Boston Public as Mui served match point and Victor's Secret's captured the first title in their two-season history.
