Championship Game Summary
The Extras 16, Sons of Pitches 7

The Extras, a team composed of singles who had never played together, went 4-1 during the regular season and got by the Brits and Attaq to advance to the championship. Their opponents, Sons of Pitches, beat Ex-Cons and Sexual Chocolate to get to the final. Extras set the tone early, scoring two run in the first inning with RBI singles from Liz Kupiec and John Fiumara.

Sons of Pitches came right back in their half of the first when Jeff Murphy blasted a three-run homer. In the second inning, Extras went on a tear by adding five runs on six hits. Extras added two more runs in the third and knocked the Sons of Pitches down relatively easily in their turn at bat. In the fifth, Extras unleashed seven unanswered runs thanks in part to a three-run homer by Fiumara. Sons of Pitches only got one run back in the bottom of the fifth on a Jeff Murphy homer. Extras powered to the 16-7 victory.
