Championship Game Summary
Axis II Ballers 49, Chumps 45

Axis II Ballers, down 14 at halftime to the Chumps, mounted an impressive 2nd half comeback for the 49-45 victory. Axis II Ballers stepped up offensively and outscored their opponents 29-11 in the second half to reign supreme. The opening tip was controlled by the Chumps who scored a quick, easy transition basket to take the lead. Axis II Ballers responded with a quick bucket of their own and, from the first couple of minutes, one could tell that this was going to be a fast-paced game right to the wire. Trampas Tenbroek was a huge factor for Axis II Ballers, scoring 15 points in the victory with Eduardo Bustamante adding 12 while hitting 3 of 4 from behind the 3-point arc. Axis II Ballers got some help, as the Chumps had an off-shooting night from downtown and hit only 3 of 12. Scoring for the Chumps was very balanced as Eric Ollila and James Hayes were the top scorers with 10 points each with Thomas Suski adding 8. Some members of this Axis II Ballers team were also members of the co-rec flag football team which took home that championship in the fall. Congratulations, dual-sport champs!
