  Championship Game Summary
Half & Half 32, CEDRP'S 14

The women’s championship game featured Half and Half and CEDRP’S, two of the league’s elite teams. The first half was a defensive battle as both teams struggled to find the scoring touch. The first basket of the game came seven minutes in when Jaime McLaren of CEDRP’S made a layup. She led the scoring for CEDRP’S with 4 points and 4 rebounds. This lead was short-lived as Natalie Shea of Half and Half stepped up the defensive effort for her team, and led them on a 6-0 run to push their lead to 6-2. She finished the day with 3 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The defense for both teams clamped down again, and both teams were unable to do much on the offensive end. MaryKate Geary had a great defensive day as she hauled in 6 rebounds and a steal for CEDRP’S. The teams went into halftime with a score of 9-4.

The second half didn’t start with much of a change, as both teams came out firing, but were unable to get into a scoring rhythm. After four minutes of scoreless basketball, Half and Half started to get their offense in sync and went on a 6-0 run behind 5 points from Nicole Phelan. She had an outstanding game, leading her team with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. The score was pushed to 15-4 and CEDRP’S could never recover. Half and Half used a fullcourt press to force turnovers and kept CEDRP’S from finding any offensive production. Half and Half got production from Heather Ryan, who had 6 points, and 4 rebounds, and Erin O’Brien who finished the game with 4 points and 6 rebounds. Half and Half out scored CEDRP’S 17- 10 over the last 8 minutes of the game and cruised to a 32-14 victory.
