The CEERE Squad 67, CK Smooth 40
The CEERE Squad, undefeated in
league play, jumped to a 14-0 lead
and never looked back as they defeated
CK Smooth 67-40 in the final. The
CEERE Squad's Shane Conklin scored
22 points, twenty coming in the
second half. Teammate Dan Sobrinski
added 21, including four three-pointers
in the first half. As a team,
The CEERE Squad was hot from both
behind the arc and at the foul line.
They drained ten three-pointers and
were 15-18 from the charity stripe.
CK Smooth was paced by Matt Auth
who had 21 points. Mike Hayes also
had 11 for the runners up.
The CEERE Squad's opening run
was led by Robert Johnson who
scored nine of his 14 points for the
game in the contest's first five minutes.
Matt Auth stopped the bleeding for
CK Smooth with two consecutive
baskets. The game then became a
showdown between Sobrinski and
Auth.
Auth connected for 7 consecutive points for CK Smooth, but
Sobrinski drilled four three pointers in
a row to give The CEERE Squad a
28-16 halftime lead.
CK Smooth came out hot in the
beginning of the second half and cut
the deficit to 28-22. This was as close
as CK Smooth would get as Shane
Conklin took over and helped to seal
the win as he registered three 3-pointers, four field goals and 3-3 shooting
from the foul line.
