Championship Game Summary
Legends 43, Operation: Millenium Takeover 30

The men’s final featured Operation: Millenium Takeover, last year’s champ, versus Legends. Both teams were undefeated during the season and each knocked off four playoff teams to advance to the final. In the first half, both teams played at a very quick pace, grabbed rebounds and initiated fastbreaks. Neither team, however, generated much scoring punch as the score at halftime favored Legends 13-9.

In the second half, Legends began to show some momentum, due in part to Jeremy Robinson’s stellar shooting. Robinson buried a trey at a crucial time midway through the second half to give his team a 34-21 lead. Teammate Corey Mitchell was a master of the glass. Mitchell grabbed almost every rebound in his vicinity. Legends never let up with the defensive pressure from Deshon Hardy and Taj Washington. Legends kept a comfortable 10-point lead and closed out the game with a 43-30 victory. Legends was led by Robinson’s 11 points and 8 rebounds. Rodney Marcellus led Operation with 8 points.
