Championship Game Summary
The Tofu Twinkies 36, Bad Boy Killaz II 33

En-route to the championship, the Tofu Twinkies won four playoff games crushing II Inch Vertical 75-38, winning by forfeit, slamming Maybe Next Time 63-47, and getting by 02119 57-46. Their opponent and Holiday Tournament champs, Bad Boy Killaz II, also won four playoff games downing Speak 67-37, defeating Schwack 62-20, scraping out a 6-point win over Room 307, and needing 4 overtimes to outlast Dii Bos from the Hill, 66-64.

Neither team scored in the first 3 minutes of the first half until Killaz Derrick Kimbrough tipped in an offensive rebound. Both teams played tight defense and traded buckets to a 16-14 Bad Boy Killaz halftime lead. Kilhaz Claude Seide began the second half by knocking down two 3-pointers. The Killaz built an 8-point lead, but the Tofu Twinkies stayed in the game with tenacious defense that resulted in key fasthreak points.

Twinkies’ Rick Rodrick sparked the offense by scoring 14 of his 18 points in the second half. Late in the half, the Twinkies, down by a point, stole the ball and the composed Rodrick drew a foul and sank both free throws. The Killaz could not hit any desperation attempts and, with two more points from the charity stripe, the Twinkies sealed the 36-33 victory.
