Meet the Advisors


Alyssa Gaudreault

Alyssa is a Kinesiology major graduating in May 2014. Nutrition is a great topic of interest to her. She is always looking for the healthier version of any recipe and was really inspired when she found a recipe of peanut butter cookies made from chickpeas and brownies from black beans! In nutrition, the options are endless. Alyssa loves to share her interests with others and show them that healthy eating can be delicious!

Andrew Mack

Andrew is double majoring in Nutrition and Resource Economics. Andrew has been working as a nutrition advisor since his sophomore year and enjoys working with his clients in both a one-on-one session and as part of the ULOSE class. After UMass, Andrew plans include graduate school and a career in food policy. He also races for the UMass Mountain Bike team.

Jenn Konjoian

A sophmore from Andover, MA, Jenn is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Jenn first became interested in nutrition two years ago when she experienced fatigue during field hockey games. She worked with a nutritionist to advise her on what to eat to sustain energy. Since then, Jenn has been eager to learn more and share her knowledge with others.

Jessi Pergolotti

Jessi is a member of the class of 2014 majoring in Nutrition with a minor in Psychology. She hopes to become a registered dietitian for children and teens. Jessi is passionate about healthy and realistic eating, as well as being active. From Long Island where she was involved in sports throughout junior high and high school, Jessi developed a passion for running, being outdoors, wakeboarding and volunteering. Jessi is in her second year as a nutrition advisor and group fitness instructor with Campus Recreation.

Kelsey Baumgarten

Kelsey is a junior Nutrition major who plans to become a registered dietitian after graduating from UMass. Also a zumba instructor, Kelsey believes exercise and diet are important to a healthy and happy life. Her interest in nutrition started at a young age, when she became a vegetarian and began altering recipes to make them meat-free. She loves cooking and baking healthy foods and serving them to others to show that healthy eating can be delicious. With so many misconceptions about nutrition and weight in today’s society, it has become Kelsey’s passion to share her knowledge of health and well-being and encourage people to respect their bodies and feel good on the inside, instead of focusing solely on appearance.

Lauren Smith

Lauren is a junior Nutrition major with plans to become a registered dietitian. She is very interested in community nutrition and enjoys working with the public. From the small town of Barre, Lauren loves to spend time outside running, biking, and swimming. She also loves to cook and is always curious to try new foods. Lauren first became interested in nutrition after traveling around the country and noticing different diets and lifestyles. Lauren believes that proper diet and exercise have a very positive impact on your health, mood, and overall life. Lauren hopes to change the lives of others by helping them achieve their goals and by finding the correct foods to fit their lifestyle.

Megan Beck

Megan is a junior Nutrition major who plans to become a registered dietician after her graduation in 2015. Megan first became interested in nutrition in high school when she watched the documentary Forks Over Knives and realized that many of the major diseases plaguing Americans like diabetes and cardiovascular disease can be prevented by eating right. She eventually wants to go into holistic medicine and council people on how to manage their diseases with proper nutrition. She also plans to work with children and the community to show how important it is to have a healthy diet from a young age. Megan loves to cook and experiment with new recipes. She wants to show people that food can be healthy and still taste great!

Steph Hill

Steph is a Public Health major with a double minor in Education and Sociology. Steph loves to teach others about the importance of eating well. Also a Zumba® instructor, Steph tries to inspire everyone who comes to her class to leave feeling great about themselves. Steph believes that physical activity, as well as good nutrition, are key elements to living a healthy and happy life.
