Meet the Nutrition Advisors


Bethany Welch

Bethany is a sophomore Public health major who joined campus rec in December of 2013. She fell in love with fitness and working out during high school after joining her local gym and playing hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey. Certified in Spinning and Cardio Sport, Bethany also teaches boot camp and is a nutrition advisor. She plans on receiving more certifications in the future as well. Bethany strives to give her participants a fun and challenging workout that will leave them feeling accomplished. When Bethany is not at the gym, you can find her at the rink playing for the UMass women’s ice hockey team.

Carolyn Viggh

Carolyn is a senior nutrition major on the path to becoming a registered dietitian. Growing up with a triathlete father and yogi mother, her interest in health and wellness began early. Carolyn believes strongly in the importance of leading a lifestyle that promotes physical and mental health, self-confidence, and positive relationships with food and exercise. She focuses educating clients about basic nutrition principles, stress management techniques, and other wellness related topics to empower them reach their health and wellness goals. When working with Carolyn, clients can expect a non-judgmental and encouraging environment in which they can grow their confidence with their own abilities to take good care of their bodies and minds.

Danielle Beauchemin

Danielle is a Junior from Western Massachusetts. Her hobbies include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and cooking. She is a Nutrition major on the Dietetics track and loves to help people learn how eating healthy can be fun and enjoyable! She hopes to become a Registered Dietitian and help people maintain, regain, or simply learn how to fuel their bodies in the best way possible.

Haley Harzynski

Haley Harzynski is a Nutrition major who plans to continue her nutrition study in graduate school. She specializes in vegetarian/vegan diets and holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell. Haley's passion is to educate others about the importance of whole-foods in our diet and how it affects the human body. Her ultimate goal is to teach and encourage people to make healthier choices. Through her passion about health and wellness she has discovered a love for cooking and exercising. Hiking, biking and swimming across Puffers Pond are ways she loves to stay fit through the year. In the future, Haley wants to establish a holistic practice that integrates the mind, body and spirit through nutrition, exercise, and wellness.

Katie Lienhard

Katie Lienhard is a junior nutrition major on the dietetics track.  She's worked with many chefs and in a variety of kitchens, giving her a good background in cooking and creating recipes.  Most recently she interned at a holistic health center, where she learned the importance of whole, simple foods.  In high school she decided to become a vegetarian, which sparked her interest in nutrition and helping others make decisions regarding their own health.  Come talk to Katie in the wellness center about meal ideas and your diet!

Milana Morozova

Milana is a junior at UMass and has a strong passion for fitness and nutrition. She is a Psychology major who lives through the importance of having a healthy lifestyle - both physically and mentally. Spinning® has been her passion since freshman year of college because it can be such a high intensity workout, yet people of all different ages and fitness levels can participate and have fun. Music is extremely important to Milana and she focuses a lot on making the perfect playlist that will motivate everyone. She hopes to get more certifications under her belt before she graduates, but it's safe to say that Spinning® will be her true love (for at least a while!).

Paige Conti is a junior nutrition major who strives to lead a healthy and wholesome life. She takes what she learns in class and tries to apply and incorporate it into her own life to make better choices for herself. Paige believes that creating healthy habits, rather than restrictions, is a way to keep a balanced and healthy lifestyle permanent. She also has a passion for fitness and feels that keeping the body healthy through physical activity and proper nutrition come hand in hand when trying to achieve good overall health. Paige is excited to take on new clients and inspire them to make the right nutritional choices while they balance all the many things that come with being a college student

I am a Nutrition Major at Umass. I am from New Jersey. Coming to Umass I really found a love for nutrition freshman year and switched my major form undeclared to Nutrition. I will always encourage my clients to have a positive outlook on food and eating. I will encourage them to make healthy choices and educate them on the benefits of eating healthier. I will make sure my clients feel comfortable and welcomed when visiting me for advising. I am excited to share fun recipes with my clients as well. Overall, eating healthy enjoying life, and feeling good can come hand in hand if you make small changes to your lifestyle habits. -- I also teach Cardio Kickboxing at the campus rec.
