Celebrate Thanksgiving!
Here are some suggestions for healthy ways
to celebrate the season:

- Look up recipes for healthier versions of your favorite holiday foods. Try allrecipes.com or Cooking Light websites.
- At the Thanksgiving meal, enjoy the flavor of the food by taking small bites, eating slowly and eating only until you are satisfied
- Try not to come to the table extremely hungry. As a result you will tend to eat faster, eat more and choose higher fat foods.
- Play touch football, frisbee, or freeze tag in the yard. In a couple minutes you’ll remember why little kids are so fit!
Walk around the mall and get some holiday shopping or window-shopping finished.
- Help vacuum, dust, rake leaves or do the dishes. Not only will you be increasing caloric expenditure above resting levels, you’ll be earning brownie points, too!
- Walk around the neighborhood and look at the holiday lights.
- Smile and laugh! It’s good for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
