Pierpont Penthouse Def. I'm Friends with my Dad 26-25
The 4-on-4 Flag Football Just Fun Championship took place on May 1st, 2018 between Pierpont Penthouse and I’m Friends With My Dad. I’m Friends with my Dad started the scoring off with a solid touchdown drive, but was unable to convert the extra point try and took a 6-0 lead. Pierpont Penthouse answered right back with a touchdown, set up by a great run by their quarterback Evan Traister and they converted the extra point try to take a 7-6 lead. I’m Friends with my Dad scored immediately following that, on a deep ball on their next drive but again couldn’t convert the try, as they retake the lead 12-7.
Pierpont Penthouse put together a string of short plays to punch the ball in, but couldn’t convert the try and they regained a narrow 13-12 lead. The game at this point seemed like the team with the final possession, was going to come out victorious. I’m Friends with my Dad didn’t want to stop the scoring, as they threw another deep ball for a touchdown. They finally converted an extra point try, for a 19-13 lead. Pierpont Penthouse tied it up soon after, at 19-19 with a deep touchdown throw themselves. I’m Friends with my Dad kept the shootout going with another touchdown and conversion to regain a 26-19 lead. Pierpont Penthouse had :37 seconds left before half, to try to even up the score but couldn’t punch it in before the break. I’M Friends with my Dad took the lead into halftime 26-19.
The second half had a much slower pace, as both teams continued, unsuccessfully, to score with the deep ball. Pierpont Penthouse scored a touchdown to close within one point, at 26-25. But they went for the gutsy two-point conversion and was unable to convert. After a couple three and outs for both teams, Pierpont Penthouse threw together a strong final drive and scored the game winning touchdown, as time expired to win the championship 31-26!
