The History of Butterfield
The Writing Butterfield Programming Board was established in the spring of 2004 by a group of students, faculty, and staff interested in creating a residential writing community at UMass Amherst. Currently the Board consists of representatives from the English Department, the University Writing Program, Commonwealth College, the MFA Program in English, and the Journalism Department.
If you have any suggestions for the Writing Butterfield Program, the Programming Board is a good place to take them. You can send email to the Program Coordinator from the Contacts page of this site, and it will be forwarded to the board.
