Holiday and Alumni Celebration

Erica Fayrie 2002 Concentration: Art Therapy Current Position: Art Therapist
Tucker Litchfield 2002 Concentration: Glass Blowing Current Position: Glass Blower
This celebration was meant to lure our students into the office during a stressful time, winter finals. In combinations where the holiday season overlaps with academic crunch time, it can become overwhelming for many people. We wanted to provide an event where students could take a break from their studies, fill their bellies with warm food, and blow off some steam!
As for the alumni guests, it was a difficult travel time in such cold weather. David Soboff, a loyal BDIC graduate who seems to make it to almost every event we have, got stuck on the train in Worcester , Massachusetts . We missed him and appreciated the effort. Tucker displayed his hand-made, glass-blown holiday ornaments. Erica spent many hours chatting quietly with various students and our new Junior Year Writing Instructor, Andrea. Alex Chan, a successful lawyer in New Jersey , was very outgoing and struck up conversations with almost everyone he encountered.
The party was catered by Atkins Farms and was held in the office. The Ntelekt Quartet played during the event and was enjoyed by everyone, including 3 month-old Emmett, son of BDIC student Rachel Besserman. His parents thought it might be a little loud for him at first and kept him mainly in the quieter hallway. After a few minutes, Emmett was ready to join the party. He hung out with Peer Advisor, Erinn Ambs, and made one of his first friends!
Dana Mazzarelli, BDIC student concentrating in “Entrepreneurship and E-Commerce,” attended and laid out his personally designed jewelry for sale. His work is unbelievable and can be viewed and purchased on-line at www.iloveyourearrings.com .
