Mentor
program
helps the freshman student transition to the university
life with the help of an upper classman. Mentors are volunteer
students selected on their leadership, career interest
and academic standing.
Social
and Cultural Activities
are organized throughout the year by student staff working
in the Latin American Cultural Center and the Anacaona Cultural
Center.
Computer
lab and study centers
offer a comfortable learning and working environment with
internet access and laser printer and other entertainment
equipment. The computer lab is located in Wilder Hall and
is opened Monday-Friday from 9-5pm, and the LACC hosts study
hours Monday-Thursday from 6pm-12am.
ALANA
Job Fair and career workshops
to promote career opportunities for minority students and
assistance with resume building and preparing for interviews.
Community
Service
opportunities to recruit prospective students ranging from
participation in the Phone-a-thon to increase the yield
of accepted students, in panel presentations for high school
students and assist in special tours and visits.
Counselors
to help you cope with personal matters, university regulations
and procedures, academic and financial aid issues and offer
referrals when appropriate.
