A Note from the Parliamentarian
As you all know, I am the Parliamentarian for 2008. I have a few plans I would like to share with you so that you have an idea what is going on.
- I plan on sending out a few optional constitution quizzes this semester and next that you can answer for candy. Then at the end of the semester, your name will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to a restaurant of your choice. The more quizzes you do, the better chance you have of winning the gift certificate.
- I intend to revise the constitution this semester. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. I would like every one of you to review our constitution and see what you want to be changed or to at least bring up any points of confusion. This is our chapter and our constitution needs to reflect this. At any time before we decide to officially do the revisions, send me any changes you want seen or any questions you have.
- I want to do some sort of constitution/parliamentary procedure game night or something to that effect. I know Jeopardy has been used as a game base before. If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
- Now that you all have your own copies of the constitution, I suggest you familiarize yourself with them, not just for the sake of revising the constitution, but for your own benefit as well. The more you know about it, the smoother meetings and votes can go.
They are great resources so use them! Good luck to all of you this semester. I am really excited to be your parliamentarian!
