Tuba Shades

Everyone hates when you're out on the field, you do a quick turn, and suddenly the sun melts your pupils.

This is even worse when you have over a dozen 26" brass bells reflecting the sun back in your eyes.

Naturally, during practice you wear sunglasses to compensate and make it more bearable. But what happens on gameday? Well, the tubas came up with an answer: Make the shades a part of the uniform.

Every year, the section leader chooses the year's shade style. After completing band camp, everyone is presented with their shades for the year. These become as much a part of the uniform as pants or the horn itself. Be it full, half, or travel uniform, the shades are always on. It keeps our eyes safe, and keeps you on your toes.

Sorry, you can't have my awesome cool shades but how about a high five instead?
