Concert Band (MUSIC 569) is an ensemble offered to both non-music and music major students of the 5-College program. The class recently became available both fall and spring semesters at the George N. Parks Marching Band Building. The concert band is directed by Dr. Timothy Todd Anderson on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:40pm to 6:10pm, as well as other guest conductors that are often graduate music students. The ensemble consists of wind and percussion instruments and perform classical pieces from all eras and composers - ranging from The William Tell Overture, to An American Elegy by Frank Tichelli. This upcoming semester will be very exciting for the ensemble; they will be performing works such as Aquarium by Camille Saint-Saëns, and When the Saints Go Marching In. Any student can enroll in Concert Band, and rent out an instrument of their choice free of charge. There is one concert per semester, and the class is worth 1 credit.
