This form is only for students that have already been accepted at UMass Amherst of one of the five colleges and have decided to join the band this coming season.

If you are interested in audtioning for the drumline, please make sure to e-mail Thom Hannum for audition requirements and expectations.

FOR MEMBERS INTERESTED IN THE COLORGUARD!
All new colorguard members (flag, saber, baton, rifle), must send in a DVD or VHS of a solo routine performed to music of your choice. The goal is to showcase your talent level. If you are proficient in more than one piece of equipment please include those all in the routine. This is video is to determine proper placement within the colorguard and not a try out video. Please include, any body and dance elements and be aware of your free arms and facial projections at all times. Routine length should be more than 32 counts and under 4 minutes. Presentation and professionalism is very important. Make sure that you can perform this routine in a live setting as well as your video presentation. Instructions on sending will be shown after registration is complete.

PERFORMANCE CONFLICTS
Students who join the Minuteman Band are expected to attend all performances . Please review our '08 Season Schedule before filling this section out and discuss this with your family. If you have a serious, unavoidable conflict with one of the scheduled performances, such as a religious holiday or family wedding, please write the DATE and the REASON for the conflict below. All requests, including those listed below, must be presented in writing and in person to the Director no later than the first day of Band Camp. Students who plan to miss a performance may be assigned an alternate position to ensure that we have a full band at every performance. Work schedules, family gatherings, and other activities must be scheduled to avoid conflicts with the Minuteman Band performance schedule.

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION
The University will provide all SOUSAPHONES, BARITONES, MELLOPHONES, and PERCUSSION instruments. There are some additional University instruments available for band members to borrow, but they are extremely limited. You will be responsible for the general maintenance of any instrument which you sign-out. Please fill out this section if you are requesting a University instrument.
Instrument that you would like to borrow: Please be sure to bring necessary accessories (reeds, valve oil, lyres, etc.) to Band Camp. The Band does not supply these items.
