Welcome to Autumn in Amherst 2005
Join us for a day of festivities and fun with your favorite UMass Amherst student.
Dear UMass Amherst Families,
On behalf of the entire UMass Amherst campus community, I am very pleased to invite you to visit campus for Autumn in Amherst, Saturday, October 22, 2005.
Autumn in Amherst replaces, only in name, what many of you may have known as Family Day. With fall foliage at its peak, October is the perfect time to visit your favorite UMass Amherst student.
We invite you to enjoy the experience of UMass Amherst and spend the day with your student. Learn about the co-curricular opportunities that enhance your student’s education experience. Join other families for lunch in our award winning dining commons. Tour some of our unique areas of learning, including our student run businesses, radio station and television studio, and take a look backstage at our the Fine Arts Center.
If you plan to arrive in Amherst on Friday, Student Affairs and Campus Life is pleased to be underwriting BREAK! at the Fine Arts Center, October 21, at 7:30 p.m. On tour from New York, with a trail of rave reviews, this spectacular show traces the history of Hip Hop dancing over the past thirty years. More information is available by calling the Fine Arts Center at 413.545-2511.
Autumn in Amherst will be a great opportunity to spend a relaxing day with your son or daughter on campus, while enjoying the brilliance of a fall Saturday in Western Massachusetts.
It promises to be a spectacular day, and I hope you will join us.
Michael Gargano, Ed.D
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life
