Intergenerational Graduate Student Conference

on Diversity in East Asia

A Three-Generational Approach to Synergy and Mentoring
for Honors, Masters, and Ph.D. Candidates

PARTICIPANTS

This uniquely designed conference is open to honors and graduate students from anywhere. Graduate students from UMass Amherst and Five-College senior honors students are especially encouraged to participate in this event by presenting and/or attending. To avoid class conflicts, the Conference will be held on a Saturday. This arrangement will also make it possible for graduate students from colleges and universities located within driving distance to participate.

We welcome applications from honors students and graduate students engaged in interdisciplinary research on areas of East Asia (China, Japan, Korea).
There are three ways to take part in the conference:

· Presenters deliver 15 minute research papers.

· Discussants introduce the panelists and foster the exchange of ideas in the 20-minute discussions following each panel.

· Audience participants raise questions during discussion periods.
