Intergenerational Graduate Student Conference on Diversity in East Asia |
A Three-Generational Approach to Synergy and Mentoring |
| GOALS The organizers’ most important goal is to provide a forum for intergenerational synergy and mentoring between honors students, M.A. students, and Ph.D. students. Three generations of students will have an opportunity to present their papers to the academic community, to discover peers who are engaged in similar research topics, and to form bridges between themselves and young scholars at different stages in their careers. Senior honors students will have the chance of experiencing, for the first time, the atmosphere of a Graduate Student Conference, an experience that may inspire them to pursue their studies in Graduate School. Under the guidance of established scholars we hope to establish new ways of academic bonding. Not only will current M.A. students benefit from mentoring by their predecessors and other Ph.D. students, they will also be able to take on a mentoring role for senior honors students from the colleges in the Pioneer Valley and beyond. |
