The Graduate Program at 50

Founded in 1969, UMass' M.A. in the history of art and architecture is the only graduate degree program in the field at a public university in New England. In 2019, the program turns 50!

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, we welcome you, alumni and friends of the department, back to campus to celebrate our 50th anniversary! The day will begin with a welcome breakfast and the annual Mark Roskill Symposium, organized by the second year master's degree students. There will be an optional tour of the new South College building and we'll convene for lunch at the Great Hall in the Old Chapel at midday. In the afternoon, choose from a series of break-out workshops (specific information coming soon) where alumni will discuss their work in the field, with time for discussion. The the day will conclude with a cocktail party: a chance to reunite with old friends and colleagues, as well as to make new connections. We can't wait to welcome you back!
