Five College: Visiting Artists
The Visiting Artists Programs hosts numerous presentations, open to the public, by artists each year in lectures, symposia, performances and screenings. The primary mission of the Visiting Artists Programs is to educate and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of contemporary art through discourse. It is a transdisciplinary effort that showcases artists working in all media including sound, video, performance, poetry, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, animation, architecture + design and independent film, in addition to curators, critics, and art historians. These artists from around the country and the world to teach and lecture about their work.
Each year the Colleges and the University within the consortium, invites artists to interact with graduate and undergraduates in a range of activities, from workshops, studio visits and lectures to projects requiring a multi-day residency.
